Free Vintage Posters and Art

I just had to share this new site I found with all of my lovely blog friends, it's called Vintageprintable and here is just a small sampling of the amazing free prints they offer:

The only thing is that I can't decide between all of the options, I need to head over to Ikea and pick up some frames first!

Wouldn't this "Abrakadabra" print be just perfect for Halloween!

I love the x-ray medical prints

Store spotlight

I was watching re-runs of Steven and Chris ( CBC big mistake!) anyway I actually came across an episode I hadn't yet seen. I love how they have a feature called "What's in store" that takes us viewers on a tour of Canadian restaurants, shops and boutiques. Today they featured LIV boutique. They offer stunning furniture, linens, clothing, accessories and jewellery just to name a few.

Check them out, and if you are in Toronto drop on by, I know I will soon!

More Halloween decor

Yes I have Halloween on the brain still, and here are just a few more inspiration pictures. I would just love to feature all of these ideas at my party!

Spotlight...Remote Stylist

The other day while out shopping for...you guessed it Halloween party decor, I ran into an old high school friend, and we got to catching up in the very narrow and ram packed aisles of the Dollar store. After talking we realized how much we have in common when it comes to Home Decor and decorating. She too refinishes her own furniture and loves the DIY as much as I do. She told me about this great new job opportunity where she is using her marketing skills to showcase a great Canadian based, home decor, deals and advice website called Remote Stylist. It's the Canadian girl's version of Decor Pad which we all know and love. I went to their site and found some great useful information and tips for home decor and design. But don't worry their site is international and offers tips and advice, pictures and expert advice from around the world.

Check them out, you'll be glad you did.

Halloween Inspired

I have been busy planning for my first Halloween party and here are just some of the inspiration photos I've acquired:

Decked out...

So the backyard is never done, right? Or wait is that a house? Anyway here is what has been going on outside. To accompany my new custom built shed and my fence is a brand new deck. Here is what it looks like so far.

A hint of things to come...

Remember way back, when I posted about my sister and her room...well I've been busy revamping it and I wanted to share some pics. The room is no where near done, but the colour is up on the wall, the wallpaper is installed and accessories have been bought. Now I just have to put everything together, still waiting on a few small accessories, and some furniture needs to be sprayed, but so far I love the colour and the overall feel!

yes the chair I re-did has a new home in her room! and please don't mind the mess...

Before & After

I've been busy again, never a dull moment in my life! I have been catching up on some refinishing projects lately. Here is the first, I've had this oriental inspired side table for a while, my sister picked it up at a garage sale a few years back. I decided to beautify it in classic off white with hints of pale blue and my new blue and brass hardware. Check out the before and after:

Boo

Yup I am throwing my first Halloween bash at the new casa and I've already started picking up some things. My Walmart is carrying the Martha Stewart Halloween line which has some really neat stuff...I can't wait until October 31st!

To hold you over here is a picture of what I went as last year, Marie Antoinette.

I handmade the mask, the dress I already had, pretty much everything else I got on ebay. The butterfly and the flowers in my hair were from the dollar store. The hottie next to me is my main squeeze, my boyfriend, what a gangster ;)

Anthropologie...and a grumpy old man

I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope you all remembered to enter the giveaway.

Today was a fun day for me. My good friend Miranda and I went for lunch to discuss our future career plans and look at snazzy business cards online. After sushi (yummy) we headed to a cafe that was wi-fi enabled. More fun ensues via the photo booth on her MAC...until some strange man sitting next to us says: "Do you think you can keep it down, I really am trying to focus on what I am writing and I can hear your entire conversation!"

Well excuse me but I thought cafe's were for coffee and conversation, if buddy needed to concentrate in silence then maybe he should have gone to a library and not a coffee shop! Just sayin'.

After "the incident" yes I will call it this from now on, we strolled the streets of the Danforth , picked up some aromatic tea over at Dash Kitchen and then headed over to Don Mills Centre for some shopping.

Here in Toronto the first Anthropologie store has opened so my uber talented and lovely friend Miranda and I headed over to check it out. We had lots of silly fun, Miranda took tons of great pics...I still can't seem to get my camera to work the way she can, she takes such great pics, when I take pics they look like crapola, I need a tutorial pronto chica!

    Anyway here's what I got:
    -2 black and white knobs
    -2 blue and bronze knobs
-another Cavallini stamp set called "Birds & Nests"
-And a monogrammed mug with the letter "E"

Overall it was a lovely day.
